A flexible, feel-good redesign with a touch of luxury
Project brief
Lesley had lived in her modern town apartment for five years. Life had been full and busy, and although she’d made it work, the space didn’t yet reflect her. One day, she decided it was time for a home that felt more “her” — calm, considered, and full of joy. She reached out wanting a design collaborator to help her bring it to life.
Design Process
After our first consultation, we used our shared Pinterest board and wallpaper samples to explore her style. Lesley had a strong sense of what she liked and just needed someone to bounce ideas off and stretch her thinking. She wanted a luxurious, calming backdrop with pops of colour that could shift with the seasons. Together, we chose a pearlescent neutral wallpaper, flip-sided cushions for flexible colour palettes, a premium soft wool carpet and a playful velvet for reupholstered dining chairs. Vibrant lamps and artwork added energy, and a beautiful artisan table anchored the space.
Meeting Jo and working with her to refurbish my apartment has been joyous and a lot of fun. Jo is amazingly creative, full of ideas, she’ll see how far you’re happy to push your boundaries and help you make the right decisions.
I know to my cost how expensive it can be to go it alone, and make mistakes. I absolutely LOVE the results and would heartily recommend Jo for anyone’s interior design projects. I couldn’t have done this without her. Thank you Jo.
