Project Brief
A phased restoration of a Victorian home in Ware, with a focus on expert colour consultancy to enhance period features. The aim was to create a warm, personal space with timeless character and a cohesive flow between rooms – blending traditional details with thoughtful, family-friendly design.
Project Process
I worked with the clients over time to provide colour consultancy and design input as the house was gradually restored. We used paints from Farrow & Ball and Little Greene to suit each room’s light, scale, and original features. In the hallway, a darker ceiling colour helped bring the proportions into balance and drew attention to the decorative cornice. In the snug, cream panels were added to the new bookcases to provide depth and interest. Every choice was made to support the character of the home while ensuring a practical, cohesive feel.
Jo was great in helping us choose the paint colours, wall paper and giving us insights into what suited our period property. Jo’s knowledge and experience of painting and decorating, as well as her passion for design were invaluable.
